GL Assessment vs FSCE-Style
What's the difference between GL Assessment and FSCE-style?
GL Assessment is the current format used by Trafford (until Entry 2027) and most other grammar school consortia — it covers Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning, English, and Maths.
FSCE-style is the newer format, adopted by a growing number of consortia and individual schools. It drops the reasoning papers in favour of curriculum-aligned Maths, English comprehension & inference, and a Creative Writing / "Discovery" paper.
Which format does my child need?
Confirm directly with your target school — some schools also set additional papers of their own on top of the core subjects, so don't rely on what a neighbouring school does.
Which schools use the FSCE-style format?
Including: Trafford Grammar Schools Consortium (from Entry 2028), all Gloucestershire grammar schools (from Entry 2028), Reading School, Kendrick School, Chelmsford County High School for Girls, King Edward VI Grammar School, Colyton Grammar School, Heckmondwike Grammar School, The North Halifax Grammar School, The Crossley Heath School, Skipton Girls' High School, and Lancaster Girls' Grammar School.
This list changes as more schools adopt the format — always confirm with your target school directly.

How do I access FSCE-Style Practice?
FSCE-Style Practice and Creative Writing feedback are included in the Premium plan. From your account's Profile page, click Subscribe, then choose Premium (rather than Standard) — FSCE-Style Practice will appear on your dashboard as soon as you're subscribed.
Can I upgrade from Standard to Premium later?
Yes — upgrade any time from your account. There's no need to cancel your Standard plan first.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes, both Standard and Premium can be cancelled at any time — no long-term commitment.
What's the difference between monthly and yearly billing?
Yearly billing saves around 33% compared to paying monthly, on both Standard and Premium.
Do you offer discounts for tutors or schools?
Yes — if you're registering via a tutor or school, an invite code may unlock a discount on your plan. Enter it on the register screen, or add it later from your Profile page.
